Cosmetic Dentistry

Apple Dentistry clients are seeing remarkable transformations, often in fewer visits than expected.  Our cosmetic treatments are providing great smiles for people who once had chips, cracks, exposed roots, uneven shapes, or unusual discolorations in their teeth.  In what's been termed "Instant Orthodontics" the apparent gaps and alignment issues are covered with super thin, durable veneers for a precision result in as few as 2 appointments.  Many clients are electing these treatments to avoid the time and hassle of standard orthodontics.  Dr. Core stays current on the latest techniques to offer you a range of options including resilient veneers, tooth-colored bonding, porcelain crowns, dental implants, and more.

Every person's path to an ideal smile may be different.  That's why Dr. Gary Core does a personal consultation to determine which treatments will be best suited for your unique situation. Apple Dentistry offers cosmetic and restorative treatment options at a variety of price levels.

Crowns While You Wait

We custom manufacture ceramic crowns using computer-aided design the same day, while you wait.

Plus, you'll be able to relax comfortably watching TV or listening to music while an experienced professional applies the bleaching.

Common Questions

Is there any way to get a clear idea of the results before I begin?
Using digital imaging software, Apple Dentistry can develop a picture of our target results. We respect the time and expense you are investing in your smile and want to give you all the information you need before you begin your cosmetic/restorative treatment.

What can I expect when I get my teeth whitened?
Whitening or bleaching can be done in various ways. For customers interested in a hassle-free, professional whitening that is finished in a little more than an hour, we recommend Zoom! This product uses a gel that is activated by lamp to painlessly whiten your teeth an average of 8 shades. What does this mean? Find out with Zoom!’s interactive tool, Shades Whiter™. It allows you to pick your current shade and visually estimate what Zoom! can do for you.

I've seen people get great results on TV with cosmetic techniques. Are those options available to me? What are they?
There are three cosmetic solutions that can be applied when teeth have chips, cracks, exposed roots, uneven shapes, unusual discolorations, or gaps. Dr. Gary Core will evaluate your unique situation and help you choose the solution that is right for you.

Crowns
Sometimes a tooth lacks the structural integrity to be strong against cracks and chips when another cosmetic method would normally suffice. In these cases crowns are the best option because they provide a custom cap that goes over your existing tooth to provide the strength needed in your bite. The existing tooth is permanently reshaped small enough so that the crown can completely cover it when it is cemented in place on a subsequent visit. A temporary crown is put in place while you wait 2-3 weeks for your custom crown to be manufactured out of porcelain, metal, resin, or ceramic. The longevity of a crown depends on the material selected as well as the wear and tear to which it's subjected, lasting between 5 and 15 years. Compared to veneers and bonding, crowns are more costly and remove much more of your original tooth, but they provide extended durability and a reinforcement that is sometimes essential.

Veneers
If the fundamental structure of a tooth is strong enough, veneers are an option that offers a natural porcelain replacement for the front surface of the tooth leaving the rest intact. A thin layer (about a half millimeter) of your tooth's front enamel is removed to create space for a custom-made porcelain veneer. In a week or two, you'll return to have the veneer fitted, cemented, and polished. Compared to crowns, veneers avoid the radical reshaping of the tooth, but retain the excellent appearance and stain resistance. Lasting 5-10 years, veneers are stronger and more natural-looking than the less costly alternative of resin bonding.

Bonding
For small cosmetic changes to the shape and coloring of teeth a plastic material (resin) is hardened and bonded to the teeth with a special lamp, improving the appearance. Before resin is applied, the surface of your teeth must be etched with a solution to create an ideal adhesive surface. The process can range from 30 to 60 minutes per tooth and can be effective for up to 10 years. Compared to veneers and crowns, bonding can be done more quickly, removes less of your original enamel, and is less costly. However bonding is not quite as strong and stain resistant as those alternatives.

For people with tooth loss, what advantages do dental implants have over dentures?
Most people are familiar with dentures as a full or partial set of artificial teeth attached to a removable, gum-colored base. All of the teeth that dentures will replace must be fully removed and healed before conventional dentures can be placed. Dentures require an initial adjustment period for your dentist to make additional physical adjustments while you learn to speak, eat, and maintain them.

Dental implant are widely seen as a more attractive and permanent solution to the problem of tooth loss. For each tooth that has been lost or removed a titanium post is inserted down to the bone socket, 6-12 weeks to heal as the bone tissue grows around the post. These posts create a solid platform for crowns or bridges that are custom-manufactured to blend naturally with your smile. There is no need to worry about the adjustments, adhesives, and learning to speak/eat with them. With just the care that you would apply to your natural teeth of brushing, flossing, and regular cleanings your dental implants can provide a lifetime of smiles the self-consciousness of slipping or clicking. Your smile looks and feels like your own teeth.
